Captiva Civic Association

Law Compliance Policy: 

Resolved by the Board of Governors on January 6, 1998 that:

1. Any actions taken by the Captiva Civic Association pursuant to this Law Compliance Policy will be for the purpose of restoring, preserving and perpetuating the unique ambiance of Captiva Island.

2. The CCA endorses enforcement of all laws, regulations, ordinances, codes and other governmental mandates applicable to or on Captiva Island by the appropriate authorities provided it is in accord with the purposes stated in item # 1 above.

3. The officers, staff and committees of the Captiva Civic Association will identity as time permits and on a prioritized basis, specific laws, regulations, ordinances, codes and other governmental mandates, which need reviewing. They shall communicate both orally and in writing with the appropriate government officials as to actions to be taken, both generally and in specific situations.  All contacts with these bodies shall be coordinated with the CCA Executive Director.

4. The Captiva Civic Association, will not in its own name, engage in enforcement activity with respect to any specific apparent violation.
